THE DREAM LIST (26) // LOUISE ROE
For over a decade, Danish designer Louise Roe has been crafting a world where architectural influence meets intimate, elegant design
Since founding her eponymous brand, LOUISE ROE COPENHAGEN, in 2010, Danish designer Louise Roe has cultivated a collection that honors timeless craftsmanship, geometric simplicity, and the expressive power of natural materials. Rooted in a philosophy that embraces both sculptural boldness and quiet refinement, her Copenhagen-based brand spans a thoughtfully curated selection of furniture, ceramics, glassware, lighting, and decorative objects—each piece a testament to meticulous design and material integrity. Roe’s aesthetic is deeply influenced by Art Deco, Brutalism, and Bauhaus, resulting in a unique interplay between structured forms and organic textures. Her collections explore contrasts—soft yet solid, refined yet raw—offering objects that are as functional as they are artistic.
At the heart of her brand is the LOUISE ROE Gallery, a stunning showroom in central Copenhagen that serves as both an exhibition space and a living reflection of her design ethos. More than just a retail destination, the gallery functions as a creative laboratory where Roe curates immersive vignettes that blend historical references, contemporary craftsmanship, and tactile materials, inviting visitors to engage with her work in a sensorial way. Each collection is imbued with a sense of place and storytelling, capturing the essence of Copenhagen’s architectural heritage and the broader Scandinavian design tradition.
We sat down with Louise Roe to uncover the spaces, objects, and experiences that shape her creative world—diving into her inspirations, her evolving design language, and the emotional resonance behind the objects she creates.
Space of Your Dreams?
Tonnara di Scopello in Sicily. This place has everything I love—history, amazing views, and old stone steps full of character. But the real space of my dreams was the bathroom—it had the most authentic design and a view that made me pause and take it all in.
